Rieger Architectural Products worked with Kasian and Plasterform to create a design for Glass Fiber Reinforced Polyester Resin (FRP) columns that are up to 38′ high.

The architects envisioned cigar shaped columns and Plasterform had the technical capability to make the designers vision a reality. The finish is gelcoat which will be durable and long lasting much like the finish on the hull of a Fiberglass boat.

The Edmonton Federal Building and public plaza redevelopment received the Award of Excellence in the Civic Design category at the 2011 Edmonton Urban Design Award Competition. The awards recognize and promote urban design and architectural excellence that enhance the quality of life within the City of Edmonton.
